La Academia del Cine Europeo acaba de desvelar los nombres de las películas que considera merecedoras de alguna nominación en la próxima edición de los Premios del Cine Europeo. En la lista se incluyen un total de 52 títulos representando a 36 países europeos. Dentro de la lista de nominables se encuentran las españolas Magical Girl y La isla mínima, las dos grandes cintas que se batieron en un duelo cara a cara en la temporada de premios española. La primera se había llevado la Concha de Oro y la Concha de Plata a mejor director en la pasada edición del Festival de San Sebastián, mientras que la segunda acabó triunfando en los Premios Feroz y los Premios Goya, llevándose a casa tanto dirección como película. Ahora, ambas películas, son firmes candidatas a entrar dentro de las nominadas en la 52 Edición de los Premios del Cine Europeo.
La lista se conforma de forma mixta. Los 20 países con más miembros de la Academia del cine europeo votan directamente una película por país y a continuación un comité de expertos completa la lista este año formado por Jonas Holmberg (Suecia), Paz Lázaro (España), Christophe Leparc (Francia), Alik Shpilyuk (Ucrania) y Elma Tataragic (Bosnia y Herzegovina).
