La noche arrancaba apretada con tres grandes títulos empatados en nominaciones. 10, concretamente. Pero los premios Annie, que se han entregado esta noche, han resuelto las quinielas inclinándose por ¡Rompe Ralph! como mejor película, y repartiendo el mismo número de premios entre las grandes favoritas: El origen de los guardianes, Brave y El alucinante mundo de Norman se van a casa con dos premios cada una.
Ha sido sin duda la noche de Rompe Ralph, que se va a casa con cinco premios, entre ellos mejor película, dirección, música y guión, además del premio al mejor doblaje para Alan Tudyk. También ha sido premiado esta noche Paperman, el cortometraje que precedía a la película en sus sesiones en cines comerciales. Ambas están nominadas al Oscar en sus respectivas categorías. Por su parte, los premios para El origen de los guardianes han sido a los mejores efectos visuales en una película de animación y mejor storyboard; los de Brave el de mejor montaje y mejor diseño de producción; y los de El alucinante mundo de Norman mejor diseño de personajes y mejor animación de personajes.
Los Annie han reconocido también el talento español premiando al madrileño Alberto Mielgo por su diseño de producción para la serie de Disney Tron: Uprising, que además de éste, ha conseguido también el premio al mejor diseño de personaje en una producción animada para televisión. En los apartados de animación integrada en imagen real, ha resultado ganadora Los vengadores en la categoría de mejores efectos animados en una película de acción real, y la animación de Richard Parker, el tigre de La vida de Pi en la categoría de Mejor animación de personaje en una película de acción real
